A Bulletin of Glad Tidings | Our Students' Works Won the Prizes in the 2023 Toronto Animation Arts Festival International

Recently, 2023 Toronto International Animation Art official website announced the winners list, Yue Yulin, Zhuang Kaiting, Huang Xinyi, Dang Ran, Guo Haomin, the animation major of our School of Animation and Digital Arts, Grade 2019, Yue Yulin's work Fish in the Bus Hide and Seek</em>&nbsp;by Liang Liwei, Huang Yuxin, Ouyang Shuyan, Li Jiarong, Yu Qingyue and Yang Yumin won the award jointly from 81 finalists from 28 countries and regions around the world. Fish in the Bus won the Best College Short and Hide and Seek won the Honorable Mention.

Fish in the Bus is Yue Yulin, Zhuang Kaiting, Huang Xinyi, Dangran, Guo Haomin in the school of Animation and digital Arts under the guidance of Liu Dayu, Gao Weihua two teachers to complete the joint creation of the short film. It tells the adventure story of a little girl accidentally separated from her father&nbsp;in a crowded bus&nbsp;and forced to encounter all kinds of strangers around.

Hide and Seek is a short film jointly created by Liang Liwei, Huang Yuxin, Ouyang Shuyan, Li Jiarong, Yu Qingyue and Yang Yumin under the guidance of Liu Dayu, Gao Weihua and Hong Fan from the School of Animation and Digital Arts. It takes the form of diary monologue. The short film tells the story of a boy who longs to apologize to his best friend who is absent from school because of illness. He keeps searching for his best friend even though he does not know that his friend has passed away.

Founded in 2012, Toronto Animation Arts Festival International is one of the most important animation festivals in Canada. It aims to provide a platform for the exhibition and celebration of the best animation works and authors from all over the world in Toronto, the leading animation center in North America. Every year, it attracts a large number of talented professional creators, student writers, animation enthusiasts and studios to participate. The festival received more than 2,300 entries from around the world, of which only six won the top prize. This award not only highlights our high level of animation teaching and creation, but also further enhances our reputation in the international animation industry.
