With the development philosophy of "humanities as body, science and technology as application, design as method", the major has formed an interdisciplinary ecological system with diversified symbiosis, and has formed the disciplinary characteristics and advantages of close integration between industry, academia, research and application, and has obtained good academic and social effects. This programme focuses on the frontiers of modern digital art creation and technology research and development, aiming to cultivate leading talents for China in the metaverse era, capable of carrying out independent research and creation in the frontiers of digital art and the combination of technology and art.
This program course is dedicated to cultivating high-level professionals with solid theoretical foundation and adapting to the practical work needs of digital art-related industries or professions, such as interactive design and game development. It requires students to be familiar with the creation process and cutting-edge technology of digital art works, have high computer algorithm ability and certain humanistic art cultivation, and possess good computer programming, interactive art creation, design and communication, teamwork and management skills. Students in this course have the ability of computer programming, interactive art creation, design and communication, teamwork and management, etc. Graduates of this major can be employed in enterprises and institutions related to games, mobile applications, interactive advertising, virtual reality, interactive display and other industries.
The research focuses on exploring the creation laws, creation methods and their technical principles of digital art works such as human-computer interaction and game development. It is required to carry out research on technical problems in the creation of various types of digital art works on the basis of theory and practice(such as video games, virtual reality, augmented reality, interactive devices, etc.), practice various digital art creation concepts and creation styles, and pay close attention to the impact of the development of interactive technology and artificial intelligence on digital art creation.
The research in this direction is characterized by close cooperation with the development of animation, games, film and television, tracking the latest advances in human-computer interaction technology, computer graphics, computer vision, and artificial intelligence technology, and achieving innovation in digital art concepts and technology from multiple perspectives.
The training contents of the graduate students in this direction include: mastering the realization method of developing digital art works by computer; systematically learning the creative thinking and planning ability necessary for digital art creation.
The program has an interdisciplinary faculty with high professional level, reasonable academic background, and a balance of art, technology and humanities. Most of the faculty members are engaged in game design, human-computer interaction, computer graphics, game development technology, design thinking, virtual reality, user experience, etc. Among them, there are 4 professors and 9 associate professors.

At present, it is also the secretariat unit of the Advanced Training Base of Digital Creativity of the Ministry of Culture of China, and the secretariat unit of the Teaching Steering Committee of Animation and Digital Media in Higher Education, the Education Committee of China Animation Society, the National Association of Computer Basic Education in Universities, the Animation and Digital Media Art Committee of the National University Film and Television Society, and the Digital Photography and Video Committee of the China Film and Television Technology Society. It can provide rich resources and diversified platforms for the study and research of postgraduates. In 2012, the professional construction unit was awarded the Best Animation Education Institution Award by the Chinese Culture and Arts Government.

The program has established long-term educational cooperation programs with the Film and Television Institute of Poznan, Germany; Sheridan College, Canada; Animation Institute of Gobran, France; Digital Media Center, Canada; Northeastern University, U.S.A.; Hong Kong Polytechnic University, U.S.A.; National University of Arts, Korea; Central University, Korea; Bournemouth University, U.K.; and Cochise University, U.S.A. We have also established the "Asia Campus Project" animation co-work program with Tokyo University of the Arts and Korea National University of Arts.
In addition to those who went abroad for further study, graduates of this discipline are mainly engaged in technical research and development in famous companies such as MihaYu, Perfect, Tencent, Netease, Alibaba and Byte Jump. Some graduates have also founded their own Internet and video game enterprises and products.
